In Thai Buddhism, the symbol of a cross with a snake is often associated with the Naga, a mythical serpent-like being. The Naga holds significant cultural and religious importance in various Asian traditions, including Buddhism.
Naga in Buddhism:
In Buddhist mythology, Snakes are considered semi-divine beings or deities associated with water.
They are often depicted as large serpents or dragons.
Snakes are believed to dwell in bodies of water, such as rivers and seas, and they are often guardians of treasures hidden in these places.
Cross Symbolism:
The cross in this context is not the Christian cross but rather a swastika-like symbol. The swastika is an ancient symbol with different meanings in various cultures, including prosperity, good fortune, and auspiciousness.
In the Buddhist context, the swastika may represent the turning wheel of Dharma, symbolizing the teachings of Buddhism.
Combination of Cross and Snake:
It symbolizes the harmony between the terrestrial (represented by the cross or swastika) and the celestial or subterranean (represented by the Snake).
Protection and Guardianship:
The Snake is considered a powerful and protective entity in Thai Buddhism.
Its presence is often associated with guarding Buddhist relics, temples, and other sacred places.
The belief is that the serpent provides protection and ensures the well-being of the Buddhist community.
The pendant comes with a free starter fabric necklace, making it easy to wear right away until you find your preferred necklace. The necklace is made from a soft and comfortable fabric.
It's important to note that interpretations and beliefs may vary among individuals and communities. The rooster pendant is often worn as an amulet or talisman, and individuals may have personal reasons for choosing this symbol based on their own beliefs and experiences.

This necklace is as advertised. The fabric necklace ends in a loop on one side and a knot on the other, so I doubled the loop around to make sure it would not come loose. The necklace is large enough to go over my head without unfastening, but since my head is small, yours might be larger. However, the doubling of the loop is not difficult, and is possibly not needed.
This is a nice, well-made pendant. It's made from solid brass. It has a really nice weight to it. It is well detailed and looks great. The included rope necklace fits me perfectly and will work fine until I find something else I want to put it on. This is my second pendant from this maker, and I will get more in the future. This is a great value for what you get.
Son 14, enjoys wearimg cool necklaces and I though he would love to add this to his collection. First off this does include the pendant and the necklace.
Pendant and the necklace are both made to a really high standard. The pendant looks rock solid and had some serious heft to it.
Son, actually really loves it and wears it daily while he skates off to his friend's house.
Makes a great gift for anyone who enjoys snakes, serpents or nagas in general.
