Cathedral Paper Star Lantern
Intricate silk screened pattern work and inlay colored tissue give these stars the appearance of stain glass and rose windows.
Each star features a slim cable, energy-efficient LED bulb, 5V USB AC adapter, and a unique magnetic closure system for easy, secure assembly.
WHY OUR STARS ARE DIFFERENT
Artschatz Star Lights stand out from all the rest because our stars are the only ones that hang symmetrically with the tip pointing up, (they hang like a traditional “Protective” or “Luck” bringing star).

Our pre-installed cable comes out of the point of the star ensuring that the star is hung properly and quickly ready for use. All other stars you see on the market have the cable coming out of the closing seam, causing the star to hang tip pointing down.
We use the latest technology of thin cables with USB and AC adapters, our bulbs are energy efficient LEDs that use low wattage and don’t get hot.

These are handcrafted stars that provide a fair wage in a safe and ethical working environment. Each star is handmade, please embrace any possible imperfections and enjoy their beautiful appearance when lit!
Each Star is handmade in India and assembled here in New York, USA. Each star has been checked for quality and comes pre-wired with a clear 12-ft cable with on/off switch, an energy saving LED bulb and a 5V AC adapter.
We put a lot of thought and care into our products and try to assure the best quality.

This was a fun item to play with and evaluate and i couldn't wait to get it and i had a spot ready for it to be hung and i have been enjoying it nightly since getting it.
My overall impression of this is very good. The nifty packaging was so cool, i had to include a photo. The package is small, compact and a very lightweight triangle shape and made of eco-friendly paper and could be reused for storage, if you wanted to put it up, which you won't want to. I actually couldn't believe how small it is folded up and it is a impressive size when fully opened. It was easy to get it opened up and i found the best way to do this was to read the very clear instruction sheet and follow that and i had no problems whatsoever or tears, it was easy and fun. I sat at my desk and carefully loosened each point and spread out the points one by one with my hand and then the magnetic closure takes over and works great holding it all together and it closes well.
I found it very hard to capture the true colors of this and submitted the ones i think are the closest to it's true color lit up. It looks more green/brown when unlit. The cord is 12 foot and i measured where the push button on/off switch is, and it is 30 in. up from the USB plug in. I have been monitoring the charging block itself for any kind of excessive heat and noticed it does get fairly warm, so i switched to one i have and that also gets warm, but i don't know if it is something to worry about, i just keep a really close eye on it.
It is beautiful and i like it , i think it has a Morocco/middle east vibe to it, with the smell of incense in the air and pillows and rugs on the floor and tea being served from a giant brass pot and maybe a hookah? My dream, far off place, full of mystery.
Lovely to look at and it makes me happy, thank you.
Good product, highly recommend.
This is actually the second star I've gotten of this brand, and the first I paid full price for. So I felt in luck to get one from Vine, because I already knew I'd like it. Compared to other star and light sets, this is admittedly kinda a premium price at $37. But I've bought many others before (I live in "Star Community") and I was willing to pay the price for
1) perfect illumination. Most come with either an LED that isn't very bright and may not last long, or a bulb socket that doesn't work well with LED lightbulbs, and that keeps the star gapped open a bit around the cord. You need a bulb that is centered, small, and produces even light in all directions. This one is.
2) hanging upright. Every other lighted star I've ever seen hangs "upside down", because it's made to fit over a generic cordset, and the cord has to come out between the folds. So the star points down. This one has a "custom" cordset with quite a thin wire that comes through the top point, so it hangs upright. You may not care, but I liked that.
3) magnetic closure. In spite of the pictures showing a noticable drawstring closure, this actually came with a magnetic closure, just like my first Artschatz star. The magnetic closure is invisible, hidden inside the star. So you almost can't tell where it closes.
One word of caution....Like every paper star I've ever gotten, you need to be very gentle fanning it out and opening up the points. Once fanned and closed, it's quite durable. But it's easy to tear when you're first fanning the stiff cardboard. Two sets of hands are helpful. One person can hold it fanned while the other pops the points open. Especially true for 7-point and higher stars.
The colors of this star were not what I'd have chosen if I'd had more choice, but it's still a beautiful star and I'm glad I got it.
This star is so beautiful and add joy to my office. I received one as a gift and sent one to my cousin who also loves it. Very beautiful and wonderful customer service
I waited until the holidays were over so the star would not compete with my Christmas decorations. I don't use curtains on my front window but did want something to offset the bareness. The star is beautiful and does my window justice. The only problem I have is 2 star arms don't meet securely. As you can see from my pictures, some white light escapes. Without damaging the strings, is there something I should do to remedy this?
The star is beautiful. The one complaint I have is that it’s impossible to close all the way. This leaves a bright light shining through the gap.
